Hello everyone!  My name is Ballard Mer Ross, which I don't know if you know who I am, but I was the contestant that was the biggest pain in the ass in the history of this competition and also, I quit, so that means I am annoying and ugly according to Tyra, but enough about that Tyranosaurus, more about my interview.  This week I did an interview with Sweet_Lesus.  The host and creator of IMDB's Next Top Model!


: Hello!


:  I am not going to cyber sex with you Ballard.

: Ha that's funny, but seriously I have a lot of questions that I would like to ask you!

:Okay shoot!

: Okay great!  Why IMDB's Next Top Model?  Why start the competition?  How did all this come up?

: Ooooh, um, it was probably about a year ago, maybe more. I remember somebody else tried starting one on the ANTM boards and I actually signed up to be a judge for it, but nobody else seemed to be interested and it sort of died. That was in the off season of ANTM, so when a cycle was coming to a close, i thought that would be the best time to advertise because the boards were busy.

: Well you definitely played that smart!  My next questions is something I don't know if you can answer, but when you where casting for cycle one, did you ever see an applicant or two and just not cast them?

: Ha, that's something you would do huh?  But in all seriousness both seasons were run on a "first come, first served" basis, so nobody was rejected. I was too impatient to wait for 20 sign ups haha! Also, I didn't think it would be fair to discriminate and tell people they couldn't play, this game is for everyone and because there is no real modeling contract at the end, I thought everyone deserved to have a shot, no matter what they look like.

: Yeah I definitely think that was pretty cool of you, but I know I would have been like "YOUR IN AND YOUR NOT! HAHAHAHA!"  But seriously though which cycle had the best potential so far, you can't include cycle 3, we will get to that later!?

: Oooh that's such a tough question. I think that both cycles had some amazing talent. And I think everyone had potential to really give us something amazing, unfortunately though, some of those people didn't live up to the expectations every week. We have been really lucky with this game in the fact that every single person who applied did have some sense of what to do and at least a bit of an understanding of what works and what doesn't while modeling and photographing.


: So like I said which cycle had the most potential?

: But like I said, it just wasn't always executed that way.

:Your good you! LOL!

: What do you mean?

: You know what I mean!  Okay next question!  From Season 1 who did you think would have won the competition straight off the plane?  Same for season 2 and is there anyone that you just didn't get when you looked at them, and then when you saw them in pictures, it was apparent that they where destined to model?

: From season one, from the beginning, I predicted Audrey to win and from season two, Jeraldo.  As for those who surprised me, definitely Kazara. When I saw her first picture I thought, "Oh dear, she wont last long" but MAN did she turn it out. I think that once she had tested the waters a bit, something just exploded within her and it just seemed to come so naturally. As for cycle 2, I don't think anyone did that, I made my predictions pre-cycle, and they were fairly similar to the outcome.  

: Okay let's take a surprising turn in this interview!  If you had to produce a call-out order of your own, how would each cycle play out!?  Remember this is 100% in your favour!

: WOW, asking me to order my babies in personl preference? lol
It is really hard, but I will try and be as honest as I can. This is completely based on performance alone. Wow, this is exclusive shit right here!

: What?

:  In CYCLE ONE, why is Mila "so low," and what about only_a_name?

:  Well Mila was there because e had some killer shots but I felt the others gave more variety or were just more intresting to ME personally; and only_a_name i saw the alien picture she couldn't submit at the time and it was fantastic

: And in CYCLE TWO, why the fuck do I have to be last?

: Sorry dude! I actually had predicted you would go a lot further and it's such a shame Krissy had to quit!

: Ha that's awesome.  Oh well, we all tried hard didn't we?  But speaking of trying hard and staying determined, was there any point in the either cycle one or cycle two that you just thought, you know what, "I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!  FUCK THIS!"

: Umm, yeah there was actually! I got really offended by and disappointed in a few people when they didn't handle their eliminations very gracefully. Erik's was a big one. I know he was hurting about the whole thing and he felt frustrated because it was out of his control, but I was really shocked by his response. I just thought, you know what fuck this, I put so much energy into organizing this and I am 100% fair all the time, as hard as it is, so it was really frustrating for me to hear not only him, but also many other players complaining about the elimination and almost DEMANDING he be let back in. At that point, I was almost sickened by the reaction and lack of gratitude that was shown towards me as a host for providing the game in the first place.

: How are you dealing with that now?

: I'm all good now...

: Is there anything in your personal life or in your love life if you have one, that ever got in the way of this competition?

: There was the time when BOTH of my computers blew up.  Literally one day after another so I couldn't get onto a computer in like a week or so, that was frightening.  And as far as my love life I dont really have a love life at the moment, but a lot of my friends know I am doing this and are really into it, so theres not really any reason why my life would effect this game and vice versa.

: What do you see in it's future? How long do you want it to go on? This competition!

: t this stage, Cycle 4 is confirmed, but from that it will really depend on demand and interest, which will hopefully still stay strong!  In reality though, I don't see it going past 6 cycles, but you never know.

:Are you excited about that?

: Yeah it's pretty exciting!

:  So I have to ask you a personal question, but who is SWEET_LESUS?

: I'm just a guy who loves America's Next Top...

: ...Sweet_Lesus you what it seems like to me? It seems to me that when you talk to people who are in the competition there is some sort of pageantry or like, whatever you say can and will be held against you in a court of law.  Let's break that away, you may be just the guy who loves ANTM, but what do you want us to know about you when we walk away from this interview?

**Long Pause**

: Umm, it's weird because I don't really know how people perceive me, and they probably don't know the real me very well because I'm always in my "TYRA ZONE" or whatever.  I guess I'm just a bit of a goofy, friendly guy. Its hard to describe oneself!

:  Why is it hard to describe yourself?

: I'm not sure what it is, I feel very comfortable with everyone here. I guess there are just so many different sides to me and so many layers that it is difficult to give any explanation as to who I am. I could say lame shit like "I'm down to earth, friendly, funny" but I'm not those things all of the time, I can't be one trait all of the time.

: I know you can't be mister personality all the time, so who do you want to be all the time, or who are you all the time, like I know I may come across as a ASSHOLE, but that's not me all the time, there is a layer under all that anger, that I keep to myself.  What are you keeping underneath the TYRA MODE layer of yourself?

: I guess the pressure to keep upholding the game, keep bringing new ideas into it, keep people interested. I don't think people realize just how much time I put into this, its a bit sad really haha. But I have so much fun with it, and I know everyone else does as well, so when something goes wrong, it really stresses me out!!

: This work being so stressful, would you ever pass the torch onto someone else?

: Oh i dunno if I could do that.  The day I stop my work here is the day there are no more contestants left.

: That is truly a dedicated answer right there.  Let's say the day has come where you stop this competition, what's next for you?

: Traveling.  US AND CANADA!

: Oh wow that's exciting!  Where about?

:I will be going to LA, Hawaii and Vancouver. Hawaii with my folks then meeting my friend in LA and going back to Canada where shes staying for 16 months and I will be staying for a couple of weeks.

: Maybe you could meet up with Bree and take a real TYRA and the WINNER picture!

: Well I am only there a couple of weeks, but how much fun would that be, or how much fun would that BREE! HAHA!

: Oh that's funny.  Speaking of Bree or the competition again, what was the biggest upset for you during each cycle?

: Haha ok, hmmm...I actually think that everyone put a lot of effort and creativity into their shoots and everyone had great elements in their shots at least half of the time. Of course, there were the really painful shots to look at haha, but I was just very proud and appreciative of the effort that was put in by everyone.

: Were you ever torn between shots that people submitted.  It seemed like for several people when they showed everyone else their submitted shots, you actually chose the least favourites?  What was up with that?

: It was always very difficult, because in a lot of cases, there were two shots I would love, but they would be completely different. It wasn't always easy, but sometimes there were little reasons I could find as to why I didn't want to choose it. For Bree's "Hearts on Fire" shoot, there were better shots, but one of them, her head wasn't under the water and the other, it was neither a head shot nor a full length shot, so I couldn't use them because they weren't what I was looking for.  I think everyone has their personal preferences, so when the models pick one they say is their favourite, I guess they are just shocked to see it isn't the favourite of mine as well.

: I smell a bunch of fucking cry babies!  Just kidding.  So was their anyone in the competition that you had a crush on?

: LOL I had a feeling this question would come up!  There have been a few contestants I have found quite attractive and can back it up with a good personality.

: Have you kept someone in because you liked them?  A little conflict of interest?

: As Ive already said, every elimination was determined fairly.

Ballard: Oh come on...no one!

: That's strike one!



Ballard :  Okay, so...So since you brought up everything being fair.  Let's talk about the drama, and what's great about this is you get to talk about drama with me, oh!  Did you feel like you needed to do something about the drama in the house in season two? Or season one?

Lesus : No, I LOVED the drama!!! I think I interfered maybe once, it started getting a little TOO abusive, which isn't acceptable. Cycle One was very different, because we didn't have this amazing forum where different conversations could all happen at once.




Ballard : Nice.  Speaking of the not having this amazing message  board system for cycle one, let's move onto cycle three!

Lesus : Oh I have been dying to answer questions about cycle three!




Ballard : Start off with a bang, just spit something out!

Lesus: Well, we have a new forum, which I'm working on now and it includes a gallery so we can have a place close by to store all of the pictures. Also, there will be a judges lounge, this way the judges can discuss their thoughts on each model a bit more, which could prevent unjust eliminations.  The thing I am most excited about though is the confessionals! Each model with have their own private forum only open to them and me, where they can express all their thoughts and have short weekly interviews with me! Each week, there will be a "recap" I will post, which will include excerpts from everyones confessionals.




Ballard: That sounds like the CW LOUNGE.  All in all it will be really great, especially the gallery! Any concerns with the new cast?

Lesus: I hope no one quits!




Ballard: Can you break down the new cast or at least a couple of them!?

Lesus: Yeah sure!

Last cycle was really fun and everyone there is really crazy fun and super cool, but this cycle we have some very strong personalities, and one of the things I think you will like is there is this new contestant that says...

"I'M NOT THE NEW BALLARD, I'M THE NEW ME!"

and then we have this other contestant that is LOVE with the camera and posing her ass off, she says...

"EVERYTIME THERE IS A CAMERA AROUND I GET SCARED!  I GET REALLY WORRIED ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT I WAS AS FIERCE AS I KNOW I AM!"

and then we have this really cool model that is in love with critiques, as soon as they get off a shoot, they say...

"WAS I FIERCE? HOW WAS MY FACE? DID MY HANDS LOOK GOOD? DID MY BUTT LOOK BIG?"

basically they have a really bad case of word vomit!

then we have this one girl who thinks that she is a little too fierce for this competition and she may not reveal all about herself right away, and she says...

"IT'S BETTER IF PEOPLE KNOW OF ME.  THEY WILL GET TO KNOW ME WHEN I WIN!"

All in all I am really excited for the racial diversity of cycle three!



Ballard : Oh hell no, I am really excited for cycle three now, this sounds really fun, even the asshole that thinks he's better than me, which I really wanna know what he's talking about.  Alright Sweet_Lesus, any final words?

Eek, sorry for causing drama, Lesus. For the record, though, I was over the elimination actually fairly early on, but everyone else had kind of kept it going with their resentment of me for being upset. Haha. THEN it just sort of got annoying because people began to perceive me as the new catty bitch just because of my response to my elimination. But yeah, that whole ordeal was a bunch of heffalump poo.
